Visit to Norfolk Record Office

Funded by the Neighbourhood Plan project, a bunch of villagers went to Norfolk Record Office on 20 July. We had a conducted tour starting with the Reading Room where the public can call for and read any of the collection.    We proceeded behind the scenes to one

of the Strongrooms where everything’s kept at 15C and 50% humidity, then to where conservation and restoration takes place. The care and attention to detail is painstaking.  Lastly we saw a display of New Buckenham related items in the collection. This was a most interesting morning and we were delighted that our village is so well represented by its recorded past.
